For nearly 20 years, Dignity Health Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center has been dedicated to spreading holiday cheer through the annual "Adopt a Student" program. This mission-driven initiative empowers our compassionate staff to generously adopt every student and staff member at Cerritos Elementary, a Title I/Community School in the Glendale Unified School District.
Cerritos Elementary serves a diverse community of over 500 students annually, many of whom face significant challenges. These often include children and families adjusting after arriving from countries experiencing significant conflict or instability, those experiencing housing instability, foster youth, and students facing significant economic challenges. As a Community School, Cerritos provides crucial integrated services that address academic and non-academic barriers, providing essential support to these families. Our "Adopt a Student" program directly complements these efforts by fulfilling students' wish lists and easing holiday burdens, ensuring a brighter, more joyful season for a community that deeply benefits from our collective generosity.
